We had another ‘action packed’ day. Of course, it didn’t start until noon- our new wake up time. (With John going back to work 4pm-midnight, that works for now.)
We decided since it was unseasonably warm (70*) we’d go on a family walk. There’s a really nice park a mile or so from the house that has a great walking trail around a lake. We got everyone ready and took Daisy along only to get there and find out that it was closed for Christmas lights.
We were disappointed. But then got to thinking about some parks in the city and decided to make the trek to one of the river parks and I’m glad we did. We were only there for a little bit, but Daisy was so happy and it felt good to get outside for a little while.
(The babies slept through it.)
Then we decided that we wanted to venture out into the world of restaurants again. So we had dinner at Cracker Barrel and it was yummy.
While at Cracker Barrel we decided to start a running tally on how many times we’re asked if ‘they’re twins.” Seems such a silly question to me. (Not as silly as the question, “Are they identical?” even after I’ve told them it’s a boy and a girl.)
After the spectacle of us being sat down, we talked about the fact that having twins- and newborns at that- really is a circus show. I don’t mind- yet. I’m not sure, maybe one day it will get old, but for now I’m just love the fact that people are so interested in my babies! (And so far no one has tried to touch them! Yay for that!)
And the babies are a month old today! I really need to find my groove and make it here more often. I want to document so much. And it’s so easily forgotten in these days of minimum sleep.
I forgot to mention that I hurt J. I know most mothers have done it, but it really upset me and had me in tears. I was clipping his nails. It was the second time I’d gotten brave enough to do it and I got some skin. Ugh. He cried for a second. But then I saw the blood and starting squalling. I got the bleeding to stop and put some ointment on it and then put a sock on his hand. He was just looking at me the whole time. I can’t believe I hurt him. I’ve told him how sorry I am a million times. I still feel like poo about it though. I made my baby bleed.
Well, on to pictures!!
