Back Again

Maybe one day I will actually make this blog what I wanted it to be when I started it!

The babies are now almost 8 months old. That's crazy to me. It just seems like we were going through the newborn haze and wondering if we'd ever get out of it!

Jason has 6 teeth- 2 bottom, 4 top. Rea just had her first bottom tooth break through. Poor thing has seemed a lot more miserable with this teething business than her brother. (I don't think it phases him, but his come in super fast too.)

J is a master crawler. He's everywhere! And he's a happier baby now that he has just that little bit of Independence. Rea pretty much only army crawls and she'll only do that if there's something she really wants. (And she will think about it first!)

J is also pulling up on everything. He won't cruise from one thing to another very often. He'll usually only cruise to either me or John. But he's so proud every single time he does it.
Rea hasn't even tried getting to her knees yet. I'm not worried. She's just so much more laid back. She just has not found a reason to yet!

I'm supposed to be letting them self feed fist food. (Biter biscuits and the like.) But that's been harder than I thought it'd be. Not for them. For me. I'm a nervous wreck anytime something goes near their mouths that they can't just suck down. Must get over that.

I'm looking for a job. My time as a SAHM is coming to an end. (Well, should I ever find a job that is...) I'm both excited and sad about that. I'm so grateful for the time I've had with them, and would love to have more time. But I'd also like to have the money for us to do things as a family other than sit around the house! And I think it will be good for me mentally.

We did get back 'home' for about a week in early July. That was so much fun and the babies got to see lots of family. They were so good the entire trip. They slept great in the co-sleeper even though they had to share space. (J did become quite the paci thief though!)

I think we are all ready for cooler weather to get here. It's miserable getting out in this heat right now. We are pretty much housebound and I hate that. Once it cools off we can go for walks and to the park again.

Hopefully I'll get better about updating...

I completely understand about the self-feed phobia. Personally, I'm completely staying away from teething biscuits. I gave one to Logan once and when it got all soggy and soft, it broke into chuncks and I'm sure you know the rest of the story. From then on, it was nothing but cheerios, or actually their no sugar added counterpart.

The girls are all about cheerios. They get them after every meal and, lately, most of them actually make it into their mouths! Once you get used to them eating and they get used to eating, it's great. Cheerios and the like are WONDERFUL distractions when you are out and about. :)
